It is with great sadness that we must announce that LEAP Academy will be closing as of May 31, 2008, due to a lack of sufficient funding.
We would like to thank all of our wonderful staff members, parents and students who gave it their best effort to save the school. However, given the situation, we’ve simply run out of options. This is a very difficult time for all of us, and we will do our best to make the transition a smooth one for the students.
The LEAP Academy building is closing on May 30. After that, the school office will be conducting business from an office space kindly donated to us by North Valley Charter Academy (NOVA) in Granada Hills through June 30. From there, office staff will be processing student records and transcripts. We will send one set of transcripts to the school where you intend to enroll your son/daughter, and we will also provide one set of transcripts directly to you by mail for future use. Student records will be forwarded to the school of enrollment.
Information about LEAP’s current state of business and office location can be found by calling (818) 709-4282.
If by June 30, 2008, you have not selected a school for your child, the records will be transferred to LAUSD Charter Division and future requests can be submitted to them. The LAUSD Charter Division can be reached at (213) 241-2665.
We had a great final year, impressive test scores, 100% acceptance rate of graduates to college, made good friends, and have many fond memories. We hope that your families will continue the LEAP Academy legacy of excellence no matter which school your children attend. Thank you for the privilege of serving you.
LEAP Academy is honored to have donated all of our furniture (including student desks), books, computer equipment, white boards and office supplies to North Valley Charter Academy and James Jordan Middle School.
